Life after surgery...

We went to the Pediatrician today for a physical. This is a "typical" kids chart. At one point Jesse was not even on the chart. The lowest point was a few weeks before his OHS.  Today he weighed 9.6 kg which is  almost 21 1/2  lbs! woo hoo!! Right before surgery he weighed a little under 17 1/2 lbs. That is just about 4 lbs in 9 weeks... It has been amazing watching him blossom after surgery.

The bottom numbers on chart are his age in months.

He has become so fast at army crawling.

Able to hang around and play. Before surgery sitting/standing in this position would restrict the blood flow to his legs, causing his legs to turn purple.

Jesse is also learning alot more sign language. Here he is practicing how to sign "give me". You open your fingers from your thumb out straight... He also knows how to sign "please" which is rubbing your chest in a circle. So he can say "give me, please" :) Still important to know your manners while signing.

His core strength is improving each day. Jesse was unable to sit up with his legs straight out. He would sit with both his legs bent. "looking like a frog", like in this photo...

Jesse is holding his own cup, great fine motor skills. But, he still loves having some help by big brother Jake...

He is also pulling up on anything he can find:

Eight weeks post surgery and Jesse's scar is looking amazing!! While at Hippocrates Health Inst. in June we purchased a high frequency laser to help heal his scar.
